Write an Article

STEP 1

Think about Impact

How would you like the article/blog to impact your readers? Do you want them to learn something or are you sharing your own experiences and reflections?

Consider what you want reader to know, feel and think about after they read this.

And think of your audience. How can you ensure the content is appropriate for them?

STEP 2

Consider the Content

Reflect on your experience of the Lessons from Auschwitz Project and consider what you now want to share. As a young person, how can you connect with your peers in a way that others cannot?

Ensure that the voices and experiences of those whose lives were affected by the Holocaust are included. You could include extracts of testimony or artistic responses from survivors.

Avoid use of graphic images which show victims who have been murdered, or visibly mistreated. Ensure you have relevant permissions to use photographs and cite sources.

Step 3

Get Writing

Give yourself a deadline…and stick to it!

Write several drafts, take some time away from it and go back to review – even better, get a friend to read your article and give you feedback.

If you get stuck, remember what impact you want your writing to have.

Step 4

Share your success!

Email ambassadors@het.org.uk to let us know about your writing and how many people you reached.
